Assignment 3
Prototype & Marketing: Build and Promote Your Products
This is the final stage of your freelance digital product project. Using the research from Assignment 1 and the pricing from Assignment 2, you will now design, prototype, and market the two digital products you proposed.
The goal is to turn your research into real, sellable products and a promotion plan that would attract your target audience — completing the full freelance workflow from idea to launch.
Everything in this assignment must trace back to the research you completed in Assignment 1. Before you begin, confirm:
- • The selling platform you chose
- • The target audience you identified
- • The two product ideas you researched as in-demand
- • The competitors you analyzed
Your prototypes and marketing should directly serve that audience and stand out from those competitors.
Design and produce the two digital products you proposed in Assignment 1. Follow these steps:
1Revisit Your Research
Pull up the two product ideas, target audience, and platform you identified in Assignment 1. Your prototypes must match the demand and audience you researched — don't start from scratch.
2Build Two Finished Products
Design and export two market-ready digital products (e.g. template sets, icon packs, fonts, UI kits, presets). They should be polished, properly packaged, and ready to deliver to a customer.
3Create Product Mockups
Present each product in realistic mockups or preview images so buyers can see what they're getting. Strong visuals are what sell digital products.
4Write Product Listings
For each product, write a title, description, feature list, and the price you set in Assignment 2. Use language that speaks directly to your researched audience.
Create a simple marketing package to launch your products to the audience you researched. Produce each of the following:
Product Listing Page
An optimized storefront listing with mockups, a benefit-driven description, and clear pricing.
Social Media Promo
At least two promotional graphics or short posts (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.) announcing your products.
Launch Message
A short email or announcement post you would send to followers/customers to drive your first sales.
Value Proposition
One clear sentence explaining why your product is worth buying over a competitor's.
- • Two finished, exported digital products
- • Product mockups / preview images for each
- • A written product listing (title, description, features, price) for each
- • At least two social media promo graphics or posts
- • A launch message (email or announcement)
- • A live or mock storefront showing your listings
Transform your Assignment 1 research into two real, market-ready digital products and a marketing plan to promote them — completing your freelance journey from research, to pricing, to a launched storefront you can showcase in your portfolio.
